Russia is ramping up Shahed production in 2025
The plant in Tatarstan produced 5,760 Shaheds between January and September 2024. This is twice as much as in 2023.
Russia continues to increase its own production of Shahed drones ahead of the 2024-2025 winter campaign against Ukraine, despite sanctions and technical restrictions.
This is stated in a new report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
CNN, citing sources in Ukrainian defense intelligence, estimated on December 27 that the Russian Shahed drone factory in the Alabuga special economic zone in the Republic of Tatarstan produced 5,760 Shahed drones from January to September 2024. This is twice as much as was released in 2023. According to leaked documents, the company has already signed an agreement to produce 6,000 drones by September 2025.
