Russia stops supplying gas to Austria – World
The Austrian oil and gas company will import gas through Germany, Italy and the Netherlands.
Russian “Gazprom” informed Austria about the suspension of gas supplies from Saturday, November 16. This indicates that the end of the last gas flows from Moscow to Europe is fast approaching.
This was reported by the Reuters agency with reference to the Austrian oil and gas regulator OMV.
Chancellor of Austria Karl Nehammer said that Gazprom's announcement about the suspension of supplies had been expected for a long time, and Austria had prepared for it.
“No house will cool down… gas storages are full enough,” he told reporters.
Gazprom declined to comment.
