November 6 boxer SSHOR “Dynamo” Georgy Ogolikhin lost consciousness and died during training in Chelyabinsk, Sports.kz reports with reference to Championat.com.
The Boxing Federation of the Chelyabinsk Region informs about this.
It is reported that Ogolikhin conducted training under the guidance of the honored coach of the Russian Federation Vladimir Roshchenko. It is also clarified that Georgy had medical access and a certificate for boxing, and there were no complaints about his health. The athlete carried out training as planned.
An internal investigation is currently underway. Until its results, the boxer's trainer will be suspended from his work duties.
