According to the President of the European Commission, despite Putin's actions, gas storage facilities throughout the EU are full.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is trying to blackmail Austria and Europe by cutting gas supplies, but the European Union is ready for such actions.
According to her, despite such challenges, Europe is ready for winter.
“Putin is again using energy as a weapon. He is trying to blackmail Austria and Europe by cutting off gas supplies. We are ready for this and ready for winter. Gas storage facilities throughout the EU are full. As Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said, yesterday Europe was united in supporting Austria.” – she wrote on her page on the social network X.
