Russians were informed about the imminent rise in prices for a popular product

Tea lovers are in for some bad news: by the end of the year, prices for black tea bags are expected to rise significantly – by 7-10%. The reason is Russia’s high dependence on imports of tea raw materials. Only 20% of the necessary raw materials are produced in the country, the rest is imported.

Unstable geopolitical conditions, logistical problems and unfavorable weather conditions (for example, drought in India, which could lead to a 20% rise in the price of Indian tea) have already caused an increase in import prices.

Black tea bags will rise in price the most. Elite varieties of green tea, pu-erh and oolong will rise in price slightly (up to 5%). Russia is one of the world's largest consumers of tea, and black tea is the most popular type, writes progorod33.ru.
