Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz confirmed its decision that Berlin will not supply long-range Taurus air-to-surface cruise missiles to Ukraine.

The German politician said this during a speech in the Bundestag, Spiegel reports.

The chancellor emphasized that “it is important to keep a cool head” when it comes to supporting Ukraine. That is why, in addition to refusing to provide the Taurus air defense system, Scholz confirmed his disagreement with Ukraine's permission to carry out long-range strikes on the territory of Russia.

“We will not allow the dangerous weapons we have supplied to fire deep into the Russian Federation. This also applies to Taurus cruise missiles,” the chancellor said.
