Scientists have discovered a new species of ancient man, Homo juluensis

This will help to better understand the complex history of evolution in Asia.

Scientists have announced that they have found a new species of man, Homo juluensis, in the territory of modern China.

They are thought to share similarities with the previously discovered but enigmatic Denisovans, particularly in the jaws and teeth, leading researchers to believe they may be members of the juluensis group. The researchers believe that the collection of fossils helps them better understand the paleoanthropology of the late Quaternary period of East Asia – the era in which Homo juluensis could have roamed the Earth. They said that the field “is undergoing significant and important changes that are making a huge contribution to how we view and refine these evolutionary models.”
