Smoking, obesity and stress are known risk factors for the development of cardiovascular diseases, but now an unexpected item has been added to this list, reports Sports.kz with reference to the “Championship”.
As scientists from Monash University in Australia found, persistent constipation can also increase the likelihood of devastating cardiac events.
The team analyzed the medical records of 408,354 people and found that 23,814 of them suffered from constipation. Further research found that people who have these bowel problems are more than twice as likely to suffer a serious adverse cardiac event, such as a heart attack, stroke or heart failure.
