Scientists have named the most dangerous sweet foods for the heart – Nutrition
Scientists from Lund University (Sweden) have found that a small amount of sweets does not increase the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases, unlike the abuse of sugar-based drinks, Sports.kz reports with reference to Gazeta.ru.
The study results were published in the journal Frontiers in Public Health.
To understand how different types of sugar intake influence the risk of cardiovascular disease, the researchers used data from two large studies: the Swedish Mammography Cohort (SMC) and the Swedish Male Cohort. In these studies, participants (a total of 69,705 people) were asked questions about their diet in 1997 and 2009, allowing researchers to track participants' dietary patterns over time.
