However, scientists suggest that Mars lost its water resources billions of years ago.

Scientists have found the oldest direct evidence of the presence of liquid water on Mars, which indicates the possibility of the existence of life in ancient times.

This was reported by Space.com.

The study is based on the study of the meteorite of Martian origin NWA7034, found in the Sahara desert in 2011. This space rock, known as “Black Beauty”, is one of the oldest Martian meteorites, about 2 billion years old, with an interior dating back 4.45 billion years.

A team of scientists, studying zircon in the meteorite, using nanoscale spectroscopy, discovered elements that confirm the presence of water on Mars. In particular, iron, aluminum, yttrium and sodium were found in the meteorite.
