In recent years, scientists have been actively warning about the consequences of climate change, which has already affected the Earth due to droughts and abnormal heat. But in addition to climate change, humanity is facing a new threat: fresh water supplies are rapidly dwindling, and according to a new NASA study, the planet still hasn't been able to recover.

An international team of scientists analyzed data from the GRACE satellites, which record changes in the Earth's gravitational field and allow us to estimate the concentration of water on its surface. It turned out that since 2014, the volume of fresh water has decreased significantly – now it is 1,200 cubic kilometers less than in the period from 2002 to 2014.
