Sharks use the “secret road” in Palmyra,
This path is not natural. It was built by the American military for the needs of the navy during World War II.
Sharks are generally considered to be solitary animals that hunt over large areas. However, researchers at the University of California, Santa Barbara, recently discovered that certain populations of sharks use an underwater “pathway” that resembles rush hour.
This highway, which leads to the lagoons of Palmyra Atoll, a remote coral formation covering an area of about 12 square kilometers, is not natural. It was created by the American military during World War II, when a deep canal was dug for the needs of the navy.
