The performer made a frank confession in the new part of her memoirs, writes CNN. In particular, the artist was convinced that she was given the name Sherilyn from birth. It was the singer who used it until 1979 when she decided to officially change it to her stage name Cher. However, then it turned out that the performer's name is not actually Sherilyn. The star's name was Cheryl.
“I believed that Sherilyn was my name until the day many years ago I decided to legally change my name to simply Cher,” the artist shared.
