A team led by Naomi May, a PhD candidate from the School of Health, Aboriginal and Health Sciences, found that some plant foods have a positive effect on the brain, Sports.kz reports with reference to the “Championship”.

The results of their study were published in the journal Food & Function.

It turned out that Queen Garnet plums, elderberries, black pepper, cloves, sage and lemon balm contain antioxidants that can protect the brain from neurodegenerative diseases. They prevent cell death caused by oxidative stress.
