Slovakia threatens to stop electricity imports to Ukraine


The EU energy commissioner has already been informed about the statement of the head of the Slovak government.

The decision of the Slovak government to stop the supply of electricity to Ukraine in response to the cessation of transit of Russian gas will be a gross violation of European regulations.

This was stated by Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko on the air of the national telethon, the official website of the Ministry of Energy reports.

He said that the EU Energy Commissioner, ENTSO-E and the Energy Community have already been informed about the threats of the head of the Slovak government.

“Ukraine has a mechanism to replace this one [словацький] imports with other neighbors who are ready to increase their respective capacities. Such negotiations with partners have already been held,” Galushchenko emphasized.
