Record amounts of rain paralyze the lives of Russians
Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, said that the winter of 2024–2025 will be very snowy. He explained that meteorologists don't look at how high the snow is, but at how dense it is. This winter the snow will be very dense, this has not happened for many years.
Vilfand said that the weather in winter will be different: sometimes warm, sometimes cold. But on average the temperature will be normal.
The country's chief forecaster warned that air temperatures will change frequently in the winter of 2024-2025. In January in the center of Russia it can be very cold, up to -20… -25 degrees. In the Urals it can be -30 degrees already at the end of November. It will be especially cold in the Yamalo-Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrugs.
