Bloomberg sources familiar with Sony's plans said the company is in the early stages of developing a new portable console.
It is expected that the device will be able to independently launch games from the PS5, and not like the PS Portal, which transmits the image from the main console. The goal of creating the console is to compete with the Nintendo Switch and a possible portable console from Microsoft, which could debut in 2026.
Since development of Sony's handheld console is in the early stages, the release won't happen for at least a few years.
