Sony somehow managed to sell 5 million Playstation 2 after stopping production – UNIAN

Playstation 2 confidently holds the title of the best-selling console in history, and it is unlikely that any other console will be able to overtake it in sales.
Sony shared that since 2000 it has sold 160 million copies of the Playstation 2. However, the Internet noticed that when production of the console stopped in March 2012, it sold 155 million copies.
It seems that 5 million people preferred the classics to as many as three new generations of consoles PS3, PS4 and PS5. Of course, when a company stops producing a device, it doesn’t immediately disappear from the shelves. A console of such scale as the Playstation 2 was produced with a reserve of several years.
