South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol will lift martial law
The country's constitution stipulates that martial law must be lifted if a parliamentary majority so requests.
South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol has announced that he will lift martial law in the country, he said, during a cabinet meeting.
This is reported by YTN.
Earlier, Yoon Seok-yeol announced the introduction of martial law. He accused the opposition of anti-state activities and promised to eliminate “anti-state forces”. In response to this, clashes between the military and protesters began in the country's capital, Seoul.
The South Korean parliament later voted in favor of a resolution demanding the lifting of martial law.
Ukraine has already explained that the introduction of martial law in South Korea is connected exclusively with their internal political events, and not with the threat from the DPRK.
