Spain has tightened the rules for registering tourists

From today, tourists arriving in Spain will be required to provide authorities with more personal data.

Starting from December 2, 2024, the rules for registering tourists in Spain are being significantly tightened, in particular when checking into hotels.

According to Euronews Travel, tourism businesses are now required to collect and report to authorities within 24 hours more than 40 pieces of information for booking accommodation and more than 60 items for car rentals. Information requested will include, but is not limited to, full name, email address, passport or ID number, payment details, home address, telephone numbers, number of guests, family relationships and relationship to children in the tour group.
