Steam no longer works on Windows 7 and 8 – UNIAN
The life cycle of operating systems has finally come to an end.
In the latest update to the Steam client, the developers have finally stopped supporting Windows 7 and 8 operating systems. The launcher no longer runs on these OSes.
Valve announced the shutdown of Steam with Windows 7 last spring. This is due to the version of Google Chrome built into the Steam client, which is also no longer supported on older versions of the OS.
Let us remind you that Microsoft officially stopped supporting Windows 7 back in January 2020. Since that moment, the operating system has not received a single security update.
Also, with the latest update, Steam stopped working on some versions of MacOS, in particular 10.13 and 10.14. This is due to the fact that the OS only supports applications created on 32-bit architecture, and Steam refused such products…
