The Swedish company Ingka Group, which is the owner of IKEA, sold its last asset in Russia – a warehouse in Esipovo near Moscow. This distribution center was opened in 2003. In 2019, the then general director of Ingka in the Russian Federation, Patrick Anthony, said that this facility is “the key for the development of IKEA in Russia.”
Two sources in the commercial real estate market and representatives of the buyer, businessman Robert Uzilov, told RBC about the relevant transaction. As added, this warehouse, with an area of almost 180 thousand square meters. m, served all the retailer’s stores in the country.
In March 2022, Ingka suspended its retail network in Russia and Belarus. The closure also affected factories where goods were produced. Already next year…
