Terrorist attack on the Christmas market in Magdeburg – what is known about the driver of the car

On the evening of Friday, December 20, in the German city of Magdeburg, a man drove a car into a crowd of people at a Christmas market. Dozens of people became victims of the accident, which is called a terrorist act.
A surveillance video published on the Internet shows that the collision was intentional.
In the published footage, it can be seen that the car rushes for about 400 meters through a crowd of people who do not have time to jump out from under the wheels.
According to the German publication Bild, at least eleven people died as a result of the attack. According to the rescue service, there are 60-80 wounded.
