Thailand has decided to join BRICS as a partner country by accepting Russia's official invitation.
It was reported government spokesman Jirayu Khungsub, reports Bangkok Post.
Hungsub reported that in response to the official invitation from Russia on October 31, the country's government made a positive decision at a cabinet meeting on December 24.
“On December 24, a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers was held, at which it was decided that Thailand would give a positive response to this invitation. On the same day, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand sent a letter to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, in which consent was given to Thailand to join BRICS as a country- partner,” said Khungsub.
