The US House of Representatives adopted the defense budget for 2025, but there is no provision in it to extend Lend-Lease for Ukraine. The Ambassador of Ukraine to the States Oksana Markarova reported this on Facebook.
According to her, this year the 2025 defense budget bill approved by the Senate contained a provision to extend the Lend-Lease Act to protect democracy in Ukraine. At the same time, the Ukrainian embassy actively advocated for the document.
“However, the bill approved by the House of Representatives did not contain such a provision. The corresponding provision is not included in the consolidated text of the bill,” Markarova emphasized.
