The Ukrainian military conducts an active defense in the area of Makarivka settlement near Velika Novosilka in Donetsk region. The goal is to prevent the encirclement of the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on this part of the front.
This was announced on December 24 by the spokesman of the Southern Defense Forces, Vladyslav Voloshyn, on Radio Svoboda.
“Currently, the defense forces of Ukraine are carrying out stabilization measures, trying to restore our positions, trying to prevent our forces from being surrounded.
