A deadly fire occurred in the Kirov region. The incident was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the region.

According to the department, on the evening of Wednesday, December 4, in the village of Kosino, Zuevsky district, a fire broke out in a two-story apartment building. The source of the smoke was in one of the living spaces on the second floor. Residents felt an unpleasant odor. Their attempts to reach the burning apartment were unsuccessful.

Employees of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations were called to the scene of the incident. They used a retractable ladder to climb into the room through the window. Inside was a charred mattress on which the man's body was located. According to preliminary data, he could not put out the cigarette while intoxicated. The check is ongoing.
