The commissioning of two additional power units of the Khmelnitsky NPP is a matter of national security,
People's Deputy Sergei Nagornyak called on his colleagues in the Verkhovna Rada to make a state decision that will allow the completion of the third and fourth power units of the Khmelnitsky NPP to begin. This will be an important step in strengthening Ukraine’s energy independence. He stated this on the “We-Ukraine” TV channel.
“Next week, parliament should consider the relevant bill. I hope that people’s deputies will show a state position, because the development of nuclear energy is critically important for our country. This is an issue of energy security that cannot tolerate delay,” Nagornyak emphasized.
According to him, Energoatom already has agreements with one of the American banks to finance the project, as well as its own resources to start work.
