The date of the LGBT festival has been changed in Kyiv: details – Ukraine
Ukrainians criticized the organizers for choosing the date, after which they decided to postpone the festival.
Representatives of Kyiv Pride changed the dates of the “Queer Propaganda Fest” festival, which was supposed to take place on Holodomor Memorial Day.
The organizers announced this on Instagram.
The KyivPride festival was supposed to take place on November 23-24 – the last Saturday of November, when the memory of the Holodomor victims is commemorated every year.
“You are right – we made a mistake. While preparing the Queer Propaganda fest, we really did not check the date. Later we saw how many people from the community and partners were outraged by our decision. Since the planned fest is not entertaining, but on the contrary, educational – we decided to hold it. But later, after discussing with the team and weighing everything, they decided postpone our event,” the message reads.
