The developer of Starfield said that the game could have done without loading screens

Developer Nate Purkeypil was very surprised by the number of downloads for Starfield.

One of the main memes associated with Bethesda's latest Starfield game was the number of loading screens per square meter. Opened the door to the house – loading, called the elevator – loading, wanted to board the ship – loading. But it turns out that initially there were much fewer annoying screens in the game.

Former Bethesda developer Nate Purcapill told Videogamer about this. According to him, the game could have done without so many loading screens, especially since when Nate was still working on the game, there were actually fewer of them:

“It could have existed without these loading screens. Some of them weren't there when I was working on the project, so it was a surprise to me that there were so many of them.”
