The EU is depleting gas storage at a record pace since the 2021 crisis,
It is noted that Europe has had to rely on its gas storage facilities more this winter than in the last two years.
The EU is rapidly emptying its gas storage facilities as cold weather and dwindling seaborne imports boost demand. A similar situation occurred during the energy crisis three years ago.
The Financial Times writes that the volume of gas in EU storage facilities fell by about 19% from the end of September to mid-December.
