the example of Syria shows that Russia can be driven away – the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania – World
Landsbergis urged not to be afraid of the “Russian bear”.
The overthrow of the dictatorial regime of Bashar al-Assad in Syria shows that Russia can be driven out of regions where it is wreaking havoc.
This opinion was expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania, Gabrielus Landsbergis.
“The Syrian example shows that Russia can be driven out and it will return home,” said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania.
The diplomat emphasized that the Baltics were right – the West is strong enough to win. “We don't need to be afraid of the Bear (Russia – Ed.) in Ukraine or elsewhere, where it causes chaos,” added Landsbergis.
It will be recalled that on the morning of December 8, Syrian rebel forces entered Damascus without a fight.
Dictator Bashar al-Assad fled Syria. Information appeared on the network that he could have died in a plane crash.
Meanwhile, Russia began withdrawing its forces from Syria.
