Kazakh boxer Sanjar Tashkenbai fought his first fight at Asian Championship 2024 in Chiang Mai (Thailand), writes Sports.kz.
Tashkenbai started the 2024 Championships from the quarterfinals of the weight category up to 48 kilograms, where his opponent was Mekhron Shafiev from Tajikistan, who has already managed to fight one fight in Chiang Mai. Despite the cut, Tashkenbay was able to bring the fight to victory by unanimous decision and secured at least a bronze medal by reaching the semifinals. At the same time, at the end of the second round, the referee counted a standing knockdown to Shafieva.
