As Oleksandr Prokudin, head of OVA, told the publication, Russia is preparing for a potential attack on Kherson Oblast via the Dnipro. For this, they gathered about 300 boats to cross the river.

“Russia wants to launch another offensive here,” the OVA head added.

According to Serhii Bratchuk, a representative of the “South” detachment of the Ukrainian Volunteer Army, the invaders are trying to seize the river islands and move closer to the western shore of Kherson.

The Financial Times also added that the Russians launched a major offensive on Kozatskyi Island, northeast of the city near Novaya Kakhovka.
