The former deputy head of the Higher Economic Court of Ukraine was detained and reported on suspicion of accepting a bribe and participating in a criminal organization.
This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
The investigation established that the ex-judge was a member of a criminal organization that included judges, their families, lawyers and court employees. The organization was headed by the former chairman of the Higher Commercial Court, who is currently wanted. Members of the group received bribes for court decisions favorable to the criminal organization. To achieve their goals, other court employees were also involved, who changed the distribution of cases and appointed “their” judges for a fee.
