The German company fired workers without releasing a single flying electric taxi

The Lilium Jet vertical takeoff and landing vehicle made its first flight in May 2019.

German startup Lilium has announced that it is calling it quits after more than a decade of trying to create an electric air taxi. TechCrunch reports this.

“After 10 years and 10 months, it is sad that Lilium has ceased operations,” startup co-founder Patrick Nathan said in a statement.

It is noted that about 1,000 company employees were laid off.

Serious problems in Lilium became known back in October. It was reported that it was unable to obtain $54 million from the German government in order to continue its activities.
