Russians are recruiting mercenaries from Algeria for the war against Ukraine. One of them was killed the other day during the fighting in the Zaporizhzhia region.

This was reported by the Main Intelligence Department of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

“On December 15, 2024, a Russian mercenary from Algeria, Taleb Nabil, who was fighting against Ukraine as part of the army of the aggressor state of Russia, was killed during the fighting in the Zaporizhzhia region,” explained the HUR.

It is known that Nabil was recruited by the Russians from the Russian military contingent in Algeria at the beginning of March 2024. In June-July, the Algerian already joined the hostilities against Ukraine in Donbas.
