The head of the German Defense Ministry supported Scholz's call to Putin
He believes that the West is showing a desire to end the war, but the Kremlin does not want it.
Head of the Ministry of Defense of Germany Boris Pistorius said he supports Chancellor Olaf Scholz on the issue of calling Russian dictator Putin.
He stated this on the air ARD.
“I think it was right to call him (Putin, Ed.) and state what we really expect,” Pistorius said.
At the same time, Pistorius noted that the Russian dictator “showed his own opinion about peace talks or a ceasefire” within a day, referring to Russia's massive shelling of Ukraine on November 17.
The minister also suggested that Scholz made the call to respond to criticism that Berlin was not doing enough to end the war diplomatically.
