Chapter International Olympic Committee (IOC)) Thomas Bach announced the timing of the return of Russian athletes to international competitions under the national flag and not in a neutral status, Sports.kz reports with reference to Championat.com.
He expressed this idea at a meeting with journalists in Madrid (Spain).
“Talking about such pressing issues as the participation of Russia as a country, and not as neutral countries, Bach reminded that they will return “when they follow the rules.” That is, when the conflict in Ukraine ends,” AS reports.
The last time the Russian team competed at the Olympic Games under the country’s flag was in 2016 at the Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil).
