According to Interfax, the Kirovo-Chepetsky District Court will consider Igor Strelkov's (Girkin) petition to commute his sentence. The court hearing is scheduled for January 22. The former Minister of Defense of the Donetsk People's Republic was previously sentenced to four years in prison in the case of calls for extremism and is serving his sentence in a colony in Kirovo-Chepetsk.
On December 24, the case materials were transferred to the court.
Earlier it was reported that the Supreme Court rejected the appeal of Igor Strelkov, who is serving his sentence in Kirovo-Chepetsk. A hearing was held in Moscow on the complaint of the ex-Minister of Defense of the DPR, as a result of which the court did not change the previous verdict. The lawyers plan to file a supervisory complaint.
We wrote earlier that Igor Strelkov asked to be sent to forced labor from the Kirovo-Chepetsk colony.
