The city administration announced a gathering of public opinion on renaming a number of central streets. The message appeared on the city hall website.
On Tuesday, November 26, a meeting of the council on toponymy was held in Kirov. Those present at it approved the change of names of several streets and decided to organize a collection of proposals from Kirov residents on three issues.
The first of them concerns the return of historical names to the streets of Volodarsky (may again become Nikitskaya Street), Uritsky (Uspenskaya), Rosa Luxemburg (Morozovskaya), Derendyaev (Vsesvyatskaya), MOPR (Ostrozhnaya), Maklin (Butyrskaya), and Karl Marx (Vladimirskaya).
In addition, the authorities are interested in the position of citizens separately on renaming Karl Liebknecht Street to Defenders of the Fatherland Street and Gorbachev Street to Albert Likhanov Street….
