The Minister of Defense of Italy announced his readiness to send peacekeepers to Ukraine
The head of the Italian Ministry of Defense hopes for the earliest possible peace talks.
Italy is ready to take part in a possible peacekeeping mission in Ukraine after the hostilities end.
This was stated by Italian Defense Minister Guido Crocetto during a meeting of defense ministers of European and North African countries in Madrid, reports Ansa.
“I hope for the earliest possible conversation about peace, about the peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, as well as in Gaza and Lebanon,” he said.
At the same time, the Italian government does not have a single position on the issue of sending peacekeepers to Ukraine.
Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani called the discussion about peacekeepers “premature”.
“Let's see what happens when and if the war ends,” he said.
