Made by Munich-based Pro Aurum, the gilded giant is made from 2,024 gold coins of the Vienna Philharmonic.
The Christmas tree weighs more than 60 kilograms and is decorated with a 24-carat gold coin instead of the traditional star or angel.
Benjamin Souma, spokesman for Pro Aurum, praised the creation: “The golden Christmas tree is a stunning illustration of this timeless meaning of the precious metal.”
But while the company is celebrating its glittering achievement, others are calling it absurd.
