The oldest bird in the world, Wisdom, laid an egg at the age of 74
Her species usually lives only from 12 to 40 years.
The oldest known wild bird in the world overcame all obstacles and laid another egg at the age of 74.
The Daily Star writes about it.
Wisdom the albatross was captured on video nursing a new egg and interacting with her new mate at Midway Atoll National Reserve in the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii this week.
Members of her species usually live between 12 and 40 years, but she exceeded all expectations after she was first spotted in 1956, when she was about five years old. Keen bird watchers will recognize her distinctive Z333 tag.
The last albatross egg hatched in 2021, and it is believed that she gave birth to more than 30 chicks during her lifetime.
