The Pope accepted an invitation to visit Ukraine
This visit is unlikely to take place in 2025.
The Pope accepted the invitation to visit Ukraine, however, when this visit will take place is still unknown. The head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Svyatoslav (Shevchuk) spoke about this in an interview with Radio Liberty.
According to him, the Pope received an invitation for such a visit, and the UGCC has assurances that it has been accepted. However, the Pope’s immediate plans, even in 2025, do not include a visit to Ukraine.
“There is no (time for the visit) yet, but Pope Francis sometimes likes to make surprises. He can announce a visit literally a month before he decides to come to Ukraine. Therefore, we enter this new year with hope. With the hope that a fair peace will still reign in Ukraine,” said the head of the UGCC.
