Pope Francis once again distinguished himself with a scandalous statement – he called Ukrainians and Russians “cousins”.
This is reported by Vatican News.
During his visit to the French island of Corsica, the pontiff prayed for the “long-awaited peace for the Ukrainian people and the Russian people.”
“They (Ukrainians and Russians – Ed.) are brothers, cousins. Let them understand each other! War is always a defeat. Peace to the whole world,” Francis said.
Earlier, Pope Francis called for a Christmas truce “on all fronts”.
