The Presidential Commissioner called on the EU to tighten sanctions against Russian metal products

The Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for sanctions policy, Vladislav Vlasyuk, said that in 2023, Russia exported products of the mining and metallurgical complex (MMC) to the EU worth €3 billion, and for 9 months of 2024 – another €2.1 billion. Therefore, the sanctions exceptions for certain groups of Russian goods, especially metallurgical products, should be cancelled.

“Briefing the ambassadors of the EU countries yesterday, I separately articulated the injustice of sanctions exceptions for some groups of Russian goods instead of supporting Ukrainian ones. Metals, silicon products, bit equipment… Instead of sanctioning Russian and buying Ukrainian, they continue to pay billions to the Russians. This is unfair,” – Vlasyuk said.
