The scandalous presidential candidate of Romania threatened to stop aid to Ukraine in the event of his victory.
Far-right Romanian presidential candidate Celin Georgescu, known for his pro-Russian statements, said that if elected, he would ban the export of Ukrainian grain through Romania and further military aid to Kyiv.
He stated this in an interview with Reuters.
“How can I agree to this? It is impossible. Romania and the Romanian people are in the first place. It is impossible to imagine a war going on next to us, in the center of Europe, so the priority will certainly be that this war in Ukraine should be immediately stopped,” Georgescu said.
He also questioned the effectiveness financing of the European Union and stated that Bucharest was not bound to comply obligations of NATO on defense spending.
