The chief prosecutor of Lithuania, Arturas Urbelis, called this case one of the most difficult in his practice.

Law enforcement officers Lithuania completed the pre-trial investigation of a member of the conservative party “Union of the Fatherland – Lithuanian Christian Democrats”, who is suspected of espionage for the benefit of the Russian special services.

This was stated by representatives of the General Prosecutor's Office of Lithuania and the State Security Office during a press conference, LRT reports.

It is noted that the suspect is an elderly man with dual citizenship of Lithuania and Russia, who returned to the country after deportation.
