Each Remedy game is independent, but players will be able to glue them together into a cohesive universe.
The author of the Max Payne and Alan Wake series, Sam Lake, gave a short interview in which he spoke about the prospects for the Remedy universe, which includes the studio’s latest games: Alan Wake and Control.
In a conversation with IGN, the screenwriter said that the lore of the Remedy universe is only gaining momentum and there is still a long way to go to some kind of common ending for all games. Lake enjoys writing shared universes and plans to continue doing so:
“It's just getting started right now, so it's too early to talk about the endgame. I love tying things up and expanding the lore. We're excited about exploring different ideas and building on hints from one game to the next.”
